Boat OverviewFirst launched in 1984, the Grand Banks 46 has proven to be an ideal long-distance cruiser, available in the Classic or Europa styles. A true semi-displacement hull, it strikes the perfect balance between the extremes of full planning and displacement hulls; comfortable cruising between 8-10 knots and capable of nearing 20 knots if pushed hard. Designed for longer-distance cruising, the Classic layout boasts two spacious double cabins with a third crew cabin and elevated saloon. With over 300 hulls leaving the factory, the Grand Banks 46 has built a loyal following.Current OwnershipDisplayed at the 2005 London Boat Show, JO JAY has been UK-based since new; now with her fourth owners, based in Scotland during the current and previous ownerships. Internally, she has the more modern layout with a linear galley in the deckhouse and a spacious third single cabin forward.
