2023 | Lying Port-la-Forêt, Finistère | VAT recoverable ‘Black Pearl’ is a one-owner JPK 1030, built in July 2023 and maintained since new to a high standard. Her sole owner, a French company, has kept her exclusively for short-handed offshore racing, and the boat has benefited accordingly. Every winter lay-up has been used to refine rather than merely repair. The JPK 1030 is built by JPK Composites in Brittany, a yard with a genuine record in offshore sailing. Since the launch of the 1030 the class has taken wins in the Rolex Fastnet Race, the Rolex Middle Sea Race and the Route du Rhum, and that record is earned through sound engineering and smart design. She combines water ballast and a shallow, efficient underbody with a hull stiff enough for short-handed offshore work, giving her genuine pace upwind and down without demanding a large crew. The current campaign has been Cap Martinique 2026, and the preparation shows. The epoxy hull was renewed in 2025, the antifouling redone in February 2026, and a new tiller yoke fitted in July 2026. The Volvo Penta D1-20F has had three services in three years, most recently a full service with spare parts included. The rod rigging carries a new forestay from June 2026, and the running rigging has been substantially replaced or duplicated, with named spares throughout. She comes with a complete electronics fit, autopilot redundancy, a Watt & Sea hydrogenerator still unused, and a full Incidence sail wardrobe covering everything from J3 to A2. Lying at Port-la-Forêt and available for handover from October 2026, she is ready for her next owner to step aboard and race, or cruise, with nothing left to attend to. Key Features JPK 1030, built July 2023, one owner, never chartered Epoxy hull renewed 2025; antifouling redone February 2026 Volvo Penta D1-20F engine, fully serviced 2026, spare parts included Axxon HR40 rod rig with new forestay, fitted June 2026 Heol Composite retractable bowsprit, modified for fine spinnaker tack tension Two 300L water ballast tanks Four Harken Performa winches Complete NKE instrument system with four Multigraphic displays Dual Raymarine Type 2 autopilot drives, plus spare SIMRAD NAC 2 backup pack Watt & Sea 600W hydrogenerator, new and unused, 2026 Lithium battery bank (2 x 100Ah) with Victron monitoring Full Incidence sail inventory, including Code 0 and three spinnakers Complete offshore racing safety pack, with four-person life raft Prepared for Cap Martinique 2026 Lying Port-la-Forêt, available for viewing this summer, and handover in October Broker’s Comments This is a boat priced sensibly in a market where well-prepared 1030s are increasingly hard to find. She has had one owner, one purpose and one standard of upkeep throughout her life, and the amount of new and spare equipment included, from rigging to autopilot drives to hydrogenerator, would cost a considerable sum to replicate. For a buyer with an eye on offshore racing or fast short-handed cruising, she represents sound value.
