The Cal 36 is a fast-passage maker with a comfortable sea-kindly motion. Considered to be the little sister of the legendary Cal 40, she is stiff and has an easily driven hull form that performs extremely well on all points of sail. Running downwind, she doesn't have the same squirrelly tendencies of many IOR-era and wide-beam cruising boats and can be easily steered by autopilot in following seas.Lai Holokai has been meticulously maintained, refit, and updated over the years. She is outfitted for coastal and offshore cruising, is set up to sail short-handed by one or two people, and has generous storage and secure sea-berths. There are custom features both below decks and on deck and all sail handling systems lead to the generous oversized cockpit. All the proper cruising and safety gear, extensive tools, and spares are aboard for the new owner.

When buying a boat in Mexico, all of the title transfer, paperwork and funds transfers are handled in the United States by a Marine Documentation Services Company for your convenience and piece of mind.
Behind the chain locker is a V-Berth with a vanity to port and a hanging locker to starboard. Going aft is the head with a hanging locker. Salon between the forward section and the galley with an L shape settee pull-out dinette berth to port, a drop leaf table separating the port settee from the straight shape starboard settee. On both sides there is an ample storage. To port and further aft towards the companionway, is an L shape galley and to the starboard is the navigation table with the electrical switchboard and instruments. To the starboard and aft is the quarter berth, deep under the cockpit. 6'1" headroom through-out the boat.
Re powered at 2009 with a brand new Westerbeke 35D, 30 HP and transmission with only 475 hours!!! As good as new!!! This engine will move you at 6 knots with 2300 RPM's at only 0.6 G/H!!!
Diesel: 20 Gallons tank (2016 new) + 25 Gallons in jugs.
Water: 20 Gallons tank + 15 Gallons in jugs.
Waste: 14 Gallons bladder (in poor shape). Needs a new bladder. All plumbing is good.
Sleeps 5 comfortably: 2 in V-Berth, 2 in salon and 1 in quarter berth.
6'1" headroom.
L shape galley to port side after companionway steps. Two #20 propane tanks in separate cockpit locker feed a "Seaward Hillerange" 2 burner stove/oven.
