Moody 376 "Tempo" – Ready for Offshore Sailing and Life Onboard
Tempo is a well-equipped Moody 376 from 1991, upgraded and maintained with a focus on safety, self-sufficiency, and comfort for extended stays onboard. The boat is outfitted for both coastal sailing and longer ocean passages, appearing ready for new adventures.
Energy and Self-Sufficiency
The boat features an extensive energy system with a total of 920 W solar capacity spread across two separate installations. The power supply is supported by a 440 Ah Victron AGM battery bank, Victron inverter/charger, and intelligent battery monitoring. This provides excellent opportunities for longer periods without shore power.
Navigation and Communication
Tempo is equipped with modern navigation equipment, including a Garmin chartplotter with charts for Northern and Western Europe, the Caribbean, and the U.S. East Coast. Additionally, there is an AIS transponder, radar, autopilot, multifunction display, and an integrated NMEA2000 network with WiFi connectivity.
Safety
Safety equipment includes an 8-person liferaft, radar reflector, MOB rescue system, lifebuoy, firefighting equipment, multiple bilge pumps, as well as jacklines and emergency gear. The boat is thus well-prepared for longer trips under varying conditions.
Sails and Rigging
The rig has been continuously upgraded and professionally inspected. The boat features a newer offshore genoa from 2023, mainsail with three reefs and full battens, as well as replaced running rigging from 2023. Several components of the standing rigging have been renewed in 2024 and 2025.
Comfort Onboard
The interior supports longer stays with 250 liters of freshwater capacity, hot and cold pressurized water, cockpit shower, two marine toilets, and a well-equipped galley with gas stove, oven, induction cooktop, and refrigerator. Heating is provided by a Wallas heater and heat exchanger system.
Engine and Propulsion
Propulsion is provided by a Thornycroft T80 diesel engine with 35 hp paired with a fixed three-blade propeller and a 205-liter diesel tank, offering good range under power.
Additional Equipment
The boat comes equipped with solar arch, davits for the dinghy, spare autopilot, mooring gear, fenders, spare parts, and extensive deck equipment. A Zodiac Cadet Aero 310 with a Honda 6 hp outboard motor can be purchased separately.
Tempo presents itself as a thoroughly equipped offshore vessel with extensive upgrades in energy systems, safety features, navigation tools, and comfort amenities—making it suitable for both longer voyages and permanent living aboard.
