FORTUNA SUAE II – OUTREMER 4X (2019) – Offered by the official brokers of the shipyardThere are catamarans built for cruising, and there are catamarans built for those who refuse to choose between cruising and performance. FORTUNA SUAE II belongs to the second category, and it proves this with every gust of wind.Offered by Grand Large Services, the official and exclusive brokerage arm of Grand Large Yachting for the Outremer shipyard, FORTUNA SUAE II has undergone a complete technical review by our teams before being put up for sale. This expertise, conducted by those who have known the boat since its conception, guarantees any buyer total transparency regarding the actual condition of the boat and its history, a level of trust that no external intermediary can offer. For over 40 years, in La Grande Motte, Outremer has been designing catamarans conceived by sailors for sailors, built to go far, fast, and safely. This philosophy has attracted crews from around the world, from families embarking on a round-the-world trip to the most demanding sailors, who have sometimes taken their Outremer to the starting lines of offshore races. The Route du Rhum was one of the most beautiful demonstrations of this, with an Outremer 4X finishing as the first production boat in the event, proving that a cruising catamaran can also stand up to racing machines. The Outremer 4X was born from this dual requirement. Designed, like the entire range, by the Barreau, Neuman firm, it takes the hulls of the 45 with a significant reduction in structure weight and an optimized rig for performance, without ever sacrificing the comfort that the shipyard is known for. The result is a lively, lightweight, and versatile catamaran, equally at home for a large family cruise or a regatta with friends. Few boats can combine both worlds as well, and this is precisely what has built the model's reputation.FORTUNA SUAE II is a particularly well-crafted expression of this. Delivered in 2019, it has only sailed in the Mediterranean, between Greece and Italy, a measured program that is directly reflected in its meter, with only 570 engine hours. This is little, very little, for a boat of this age, and it tells a story of careful maintenance as well as a reasoned use.Its wardrobe features the configuration sought by demanding sailors, with a mainsail and genoa from Incidence in Hydranet, mounted with a staysail also from Incidence Hydranet, complemented by a gennaker from Incidence dedicated to downwind sailing. This combination of genoa plus staysail, finely adjustable, allows for getting the best out of the boat in all points of sail without ever sacrificing the serenity of navigation.Structurally, FORTUNA SUAE II benefits from the specific features of the 4X. The carbon bulkheads and the carbon mast, supported by a Kevlar standing rigging, significantly lighten the whole while enhancing the rigidity of the structure, providing glide sensations and accelerations that few cruising catamarans can offer. The daggerboards, rudders, wheel steering, and emergency tillers are also made of carbon, a construction resolutely focused on performance. On board, comfort has not been sacrificed either. The navigation is equipped with a complete B&G electronic suite, H5000 central, wind vane anemometer, 9-inch Zeus GPS, AIS, autopilot, and 4G radar, for total confidence regardless of the conditions. The Webasto diesel heating system, with its six heaters, allows for serene navigation even in cool weather, while the watermaker and the 400 liters of freshwater tank ensure comfortable autonomy for the longest crossings.Choosing FORTUNA SUAE II is not just about acquiring a recent, lightly used, and already proven catamaran. It is also about joining the Grand Large Yachting ecosystem, transoceanic rallies, offshore sailing training, personalized preparation for long journeys, refit service, and a global network of owners ready to share their experience. Support that begins at the sale and, for many of our clients, never really stops. For those seeking performance without sacrificing quality of life on board, it is hard to find better than a well-maintained 4X. Available VAT included, at the La Grande Motte shipyard, FORTUNA SUAE II awaits its next great journey. For the complete specification, detailed inventory, and to arrange a visit, please contact us directly.
