Bavaria 50 Overview
The Bavaria 50 is a thoughtfully engineered volume cruiser that punches above its weight in light air and carries ocean-rated credentials without sacrificing livability. Its beam-driven stability and long waterline make it a forgiving passage-maker.
Bavaria Yachtbau built the Bavaria 50 in Germany with a hull of hand-laid solid GRP below the waterline and sandwich construction above it anchor. The Ocean variant, produced from 1998 to 2003 with a centre-cockpit layout, is widely regarded as the most robustly built of the Bavaria 50 family. At 50'6" overall with a 43'0" waterline, a 14'9" beam, and a displacement of 33,000 lbs carried on 9,920 lbs of ballast, the Ocean draws 6'7" on its standard fin. The Category A rating and the structural choices behind it place the boat in the company of serious blue-water cruisers rather than coastal weekenders.

The 3-cabin Bavaria 50 is designed for comfortable cruising and liveaboard use. It typically features a large forward master cabin with an en-suite head and separate shower, plus two aft double cabins. This layout gives you more storage, a spacious saloon, and privacy for couples or small families. Belowdecks, the Bavaria 50 Ocean is exceptionally spacious, with a saloon designed to comfortably accommodate a crowd. The U-shaped amidships galley to port keeps the cook connected to the main living area, while the large dining table, U-shaped seating to starboard, and amidships bench can comfortably seat up to eight. This three-cabin model offers an expansive owner's cabin forward with a large head and shower to port and extended hanging lockers to starboard.
