This outlines the idea of the modern racer-cruiser, characterized by high performance under sail and excellent livability on board. From this vision comes the VR 47, designed by GERMAN FRERS, one of the most renowned designers internationally, also known for designing LUNA ROSSA.
This vessel boasts an extremely simple rig, designed to ensure high speeds and maximum maneuverability with a reduced crew, without compromising comfort while sailing. The VR 47 is a boat for connoisseurs, with a limited number of units produced and rare examples available on the market!
Built in 1999, this vessel offers excellent performance both under sail and power, ease of maneuvering, and great stability. The construction of the hull in sandwich with Airex core, composite fabrics, vinylester resins, and vacuum laminates ensures a lightweight and durable structure.
The lines and parameters of the hull designed by FRERS have a reduced wetted surface, a high waterline length, an optimized sail plan, and a bulb with a high righting moment. The hull has been designed to offer excellent behavior in all wind conditions, while ensuring remarkable softness at the helm.
The Cutter rig with an aluminum mast with three sets of spreaders. In cruising mode, the boat can use the full mainsail and the genoa up to 25 knots of true wind, without adjusting the reefing lines. Additionally, the asymmetrical spinnaker can be flown at the bow without the use of a pole.
The spacious cockpit, made of teak, is equipped with two Solimar steering wheels, with all maneuvers led to it. Below deck, the interiors are welcoming thanks to the use of warm-toned wood and are designed to be practical, functional, and comfortable.
The living spaces are ample and well thought out, with numerous storage compartments and shelves.
The engine is conveniently located in the compartment under the access ladder to the below deck.
The internal layout includes two double cabins, a generous owner's cabin at the bow bathrooms, a spacious salon, a chart table with dedicated storage, and a fully equipped kitchen with sink, refrigerator, stove, and oven. The boat requires some work.
