OUTREMER 55 LIGHT "NOSY BE" — Year 1999
1999, La Grande Motte. At that time, it was Gérard Danson, the creator of the Outremer brand, who designed each hull of the yard and created the new models of the brand.
First came the Outremer 40, followed by the 50 Standard, and shortly after the 55 Light and the 45, both of which were long-time bestsellers of the French brand.
NOSY BE comes out of our workshops as an Outremer 50 Light (15m30), then extended to 55 (16m10) like almost all Outremer 55s of the time.
This modification then exploits the full potential of this design, without ever betraying its spirit. It is this generation of boats that built the reputation of the Outremer yard. Sailboats made by sailors for sailors, which laid the foundations of everything the yard represents today: a marine catamaran with a daggerboard, fast, easy to maneuver, designed to go far and fast with a small crew.
NOSY BE is offered by the used department of the Outremer yard. Indeed, we know our boats because we have seen them born, from the current to the old generation of Danson.
Nosy Be has been followed from its first to the second and current owner by the brokerage service of the yard, the history is complete, its story is known.
Moreover, the used service also offers all the services that revolve around the yard: refit, maintenance, rallies, coaching, resale.
It is indeed this entire ecosystem and this community around the Outremer brand that makes it so that when you buy an Outremer Catamaran, you enter a community of connoisseurs, a family to which you belong. This allows us to support each buyer with the accuracy and transparency that this kind of project deserves.
The boat has been carefully maintained over the years, with work carried out on the important areas: rigging, propulsion, onboard energy. It is worth noting the presence of a generator on board, a piece of equipment that has become quite rare to find on these generations of boats.
