The boat is a standard Dufour 470, but does not have a diesel engine and sail drive as usual, but a hybrid solution with an electric motor (ODSEA+ pod) that is powered by a large 27kw battery, and which is charged either by the 15kw generator, by shore power, or even during sailing by the propeller revolutions of the electric motor.

The boat does 6-7 knots with only electric battery propulsion. With further throttle, if more power is desired, the generator can be started and combines battery and diesel operation for more power.

The generator runs at a constant speed and uses only 4 liters per hour and delivers up to 15kw. There is a 250 liter diesel tank for the generator. The generator starts automatically if the battery capacity falls below 40%.

In other words, there are 3 different propulsion systems in this boat; sail, pure electric, and diesel electric. With that, the overall range is significantly longer than with regular diesel operation.

The boat is registeredd in France and EU taxes have been paid. This means that she can be sailed duty-free to EU areas.
