The Westerly Oceanmaster 48 is a solid and robust sailing yacht, built to Lloyd’s standards. The current owner has carried out an extensive refit in 2023/2024, renewing and modernizing a large number of components. Upgrades include: new windows, Gebo hatches and ports, a cockpit finished with cork, full LED lighting, a Dometic inverter air conditioning system (27,000 BTU), an outdoor shower, deck wash system, high-power AIS, a Philippi control panel with touchscreen, plastic freshwater tanks, a lithium battery bank totaling 1200 Ah, connections for a washing machine, refrigerator compressor, Orca navigation system, and plastic seacocks. Deck equipment upgrades include; a bimini with integrated cockpit tent featuring awning and screens, winter cover, railing bag, UV strip for the genoa, and a maindrop system with lazyjacks for the mainsail, halyards, mast blocks and clutches in the cockpit, as well as a dinghy with outboard motor. For energy supply, this Westerly has five solar panels on deck in addition to shore power connection, four dual-sided solar panels on the railing, and a wind generator. The underwater hull has been treated with epoxy and will be fitted with hard antifouling in 2025. The sails are in good condition and appear to have seen little use. A customs declaration is included in the documentation and the yacht is registered in the land registry. The Westerly Oceanmaster 48 offers great comfort for extended stays on board and is therefore excellently suited for long sailing trips or permanent living.
The interior of the Westerly Oceanmaster 48 has also been thoroughly renovated. The woodwork has been completely stripped of old paint and re-varnished. Additionally, new wall coverings have been applied and the cushions have been replaced. For extra comfort and insulation, the hull has been insulated with PU foam. The spacious salon features a headroom of approximately 1.90 m and includes a comfortable seating area with dinette, creating an enjoyable living space on board. The galley is located on the starboard side in the passage to the aft cabin. It is practically designed and equipped with a gimbaled 4-burner stove, extractor hood, double refrigerator box, sink, and plenty of storage space. The aft cabin features a spacious double bed with mattresses, ample storage space, and an en-suite bathroom. This bathroom is equipped with a shower, washbasin, and manual flush toilet. In the forepeak are beautifully fitted cabinets that provide additional storage space. In the passage to the forepeak there is a second wet cell on starboard side with electric flushing toilet, washing machine, and storage space for cleaning supplies and other necessities. On port side is a practical workspace set up with a desk, cabinet and equipment including a control panel, second VHF radio and AIS. For extra comfort on board, the yacht is equipped with central heating featuring six radiators, air conditioning and a hot water boiler.
