Model O55 LRC (Oceaneer 55 Long Range Cruise Trawler Yacht)
Designer Seahorse Marine Ltd
Builder Seahorse Marine Ltd
The Seahorse Oceaneer 55 steel trawler yacht was originally designed for expat airpilot family liveaboard in Hong Kong where berths for a yacht of 55 feet or below are easier available and cost less. The O55 LRC ocean passagemaking version was extendedly designed forserious cruising. Besides being more seaworthy than the O55 coastal versionthe LRC version has a huge open upper deck lounge area with second galleyand sundeck that rivals most 100 footers. The very seaworthy LRC version are installed with ports instead of windows onthe lower deck. No upper deck saloon and open deck instead. Please check out our O55 LRC drawings and specs to understand more. (Note: We can emailyou General Arrangements in PDF format as the jpg pictures are not as clearas the PDF's.) The O55 coastal live aboard version has an upper deck main salon, instead ofopen deck. She has windows installed on the lower deck in place of ports. The O55 coastal version are not recommended for oceancrossing passagemaking because of extra windage and higher CG. However, one made a passage to the U.S. and another sailed to Australia fromHong Kong. Due to change of plans one O55 LRC is available semi- custom built fromSeahorse Marine Yard. She is not only suitable for livaboard but also fits inplans to eventually cross oceans. One O55 LRC sistership was shipped to the US by the 1st Owner and later thenew owner sailed her from Florida to the Philippines enjoying South East Asia cruisings. To know more about our Oceaneer 55 you are welcome to visit us onsite. We are abut 3 hour trip from Hong Kong and adjacent to Macau. Trip instructions provided on request.
