FURTHER BROKER’S COMMENTS:
Launched in 2002, LADY MAYFAIR is a very high specification Moody 54 fitted out for long-term liveaboard blue water cruising.
With just three owners since new, and sold to her current owners by Grabau International, LADY MAYFAIR was originally based in the Mediterranean before being shipped back to the UK following an aborted ARC adventure in 2006 (abandoned before the start due to health issues) which then saw her used only lightly in around the Solent until her sale by Grabau International to her second owners in 2014 who based her in London completing a refit before moving down to the Mediterranean a few seasons later. Sold to her current owners in July 2021 as a replacement for their Hylas 46, LADY MAYFAIR cruised in Mediterranean waters, initially as a full-time liveaboard and latterly for seasonal cruising with her being laid up ashore during the out seasons with professional maintenance as required. During this most recent ownership, LADY MAYFAIR has benefitted from further and considerable refit and improvements to keep her 100% up to date and ready to go.
LADY MAYFAIR boasts one of the best specifications we have seen, with her highlights including:- 3-cabin, 2-head layout with fantastic owner’s cabin aft and guest cabins forward. OWNER’S COMMENTS:
LADY MAYFAIR was purchased as a comfortable, roomier, blue-water boat to replace our Hylas 46, in which we had crossed the Atlantic and cruised the Med. She is a strong reliable, good performing boat, readily sailed by a husband and wife team. For a few years we were live-aboards, but more recently we became seasonal sailors, although still enjoying the multi-cultural sailing communities we met en route. The cruising waters of the east coast of Spain, the Balearics, Tunisia, Malta, Crete, Turkey, Cyprus, Greece, Albania, Montenegro and Croatia were readily navigated with ease in her. Installing an efficient watermaker and solar panels has enabled us to live ‘off grid’ and explore a less beaten track. Unfortunately, age and medical concerns have forced us to offer the boat for sale while we plan to explore land-based opportunities.
MANUFACTURER’S COMMENTS:
Stiff, immensely strong, yet light enough to maintain optimum performance across the full range of ocean cruising conditions, the Moody 54 has been designed without compromise. The balance and power of her underwater sections and lead keel give superb sail carrying and stability for swift passage times.
This sparkling performance is complemented by her ease of handling by two people. Standard equipment includes furling for all sails, electrically powered primary winches and a 10hp bow thrusters. Her powerful sail plan, on Seldens triple spreader rig, includes a cutter rig with self-tacking stay sail.
The Moody 54’s raised saloon is a delight. Spacious, warm and inviting, natural light floods in through its side and forward facing windows. There are up to seven comfortable berths, with three luxuriously proportioned private cabins. The large owner’s stateroom includes full en suite facilities, a separate shower stall and generous wardrobe space.
The large galley is equipped with the catering and refrigeration facilities necessary for long periods at sea. There is a large chart area, elegantly appointed throughout.
