The Bertram 42 is a legendary American-built motor yacht renowned for its exceptionally strong construction, seaworthiness, and spacious liveaboard comfort. Built in 1980, this classic Bertram combines traditional heavy-displacement build quality with impressive interior volume, making her an ideal long-range cruiser or liveaboard vessel for Mediterranean cruising.
Currently located at anchor in Vliho, Lefkas Island, Greece, this Bertram 42 has recently been cruising extensively around the Greek islands and has proven to be an economical and comfortable cruising platform. Powered by twin Detroit Diesel 425hp engines, the owner reports comfortable cruising at approximately 6 knots and 800 RPM using only around 20–30 litres per hour combined — remarkably efficient for a vessel of this size and displacement.
The yacht offers exceptionally spacious accommodation thanks to her impressive 15ft beam, comfortably sleeping up to 8 guests. The aft master cabin is particularly generous, featuring two queen-size double beds together with ensuite facilities, while the forward guest cabin offers twin V-berth singles with its own ensuite shower and electric toilet.
