**Albin Express – Brush-Up Course in Connection with Sale**
In connection with the sale of the Albin Express, I am offering a brush-up course in practical sailing on the Albin Express. If you are interested (max. 3 people), I can provide 3 teaching evenings on weekdays, each lasting 3 hours (18:00-21:00) as part of the sale of the boat.
I have taught practical sailing for 20 years at a sailing school in classic sailing boats and have some experience sailing J70s and my own two X-boats.
The course can cover basic skills, harbor maneuvers, anchoring, etc., or serve as a brush-up course. The course content will be determined collaboratively.

**Introduction**
After selling our larger boat in autumn 2025, we purchased the Albin Express shortly thereafter (autumn 2025). However, the boat is a bit too lively for my age (79 years).
The Albin Express is a light boat with good speed potential and an exciting rig that offers special opportunities to work on trim. If you are interested in practicing “trim,” this may be the boat for you/us. The boat has a good reputation on racing circuits.
It is not a disadvantage to be younger and more agile.
The layout with pantry and storage drawer is very flexible, and the many storage spaces in the salon make the boat suitable for weekend trips and vacations.
**Maintenance and Improvements**
Notable renovation work before our time includes:
Running and standing rigging
The mast has been renewed in recent years with one from Swedish supplier Benn’s. A whip has been installed at the top of the backstay (renewed about 6 years ago). The mast looks really nice.
Hull/Deck:
Below waterline, the bottom has been completely cleaned and treated with VC TAR2 boat primer and VC 17m anti-fouling paint (as stated by seller).
**Maintenance and Improvements During Our Time**
Rigging:
The running rigging that was heavily soiled and stiff from salt has been removed and washed in a machine. Ends have been re-tackled. Blocks have been cleaned, and salt has been rinsed out.
Sails:
A set of racing sails: mainsail, jib, and spinnaker from North Sails. The headsail has been inspected by North Sails in spring. A set of cruising sails: mainsail with a rope, jib. Boom cover and protective bag for headsail have been cleaned and treated with impregnation.
Hull/Deck:
Exterior: It is planned that the boat will be taken out of water; fouling will be cleaned off, and an anti-fouling treatment like VC 17m will be applied.
The deck has been cleaned of algae and many years' worth of dirt.
It is planned that both deck and freeboard will be wax-treated.
Interior:
The hull has been washed internally to remove years' worth of accumulated dirt.
The joinery has been inspected; missing screws etc., have been replaced.
Electrical System:
The electrical system works but is older.
A charger is included along with a 70 Ah gel battery.
Heating:
A mini cabin heater from Wallas Marin Oy is installed at the bulkhead in the fore cabin; it burns paraffin oil with exhaust through the deck.
The cabin heater has not been serviced and is currently not in use.
Interior:
Woodwork around companionway hatch has been removed, sanded down, varnished, and reinstalled using Sika Flex 295 UV sealant; it is now watertight.
Various mahogany veneer boards covering storage spaces have been glued together and varnished.
Tabletop has been sanded down and varnished; pantry drawers are sanded down and varnished; floorboards are sanded down and varnished.
Screws and bolts in or under deck have been re-tightened.
Outboard Motor:
Johnson 3.3 - two-stroke
Oil has been changed in the gearbox; spark plugs have been replaced. Engine parts have been cleaned and lubricated with marine grease. The engine has good compression and runs well.
