Boat Description
This beautiful VDL Pilot 50 is a yacht designed for extended stays on board, allowing for comfortable living throughout the year. It is fully insulated with double glazing, an insulated hull, combined with a Kabola central heating system and reversible air conditioning/heating in the owner's cabin.
Exterior Features
The functional salon is directly connected to the spacious aft deck. The aft deck features a generous U-shaped seating area on the port side, opposite the outdoor steering position. The aft deck is completely enclosed with a tent. The swim platform is easily accessible from the aft deck.
Interior Layout
Inside the salon, there is a comfortable L-shaped sofa with a fixed table (with navigation capability). On the starboard side is the indoor steering position. A half-round staircase leads down to the galley located on the port side, with a cozy dinette (approximately 6 to 7 people) on the starboard side. At the front of the yacht is the guest cabin with a double French bed, and on the starboard side, another guest cabin with a single bed. Below the salon is the owner's cabin featuring a double French bed. The engine room is easily accessible from the corridor leading to the owner's cabin.
Refit History
The yacht has been refitted in two phases:
Phase 1: The yacht was completely blasted and rebuilt with a new epoxy paint system. The entire interior has been modernized (varnishing of the woodwork, new flooring, and a completely new steering position).
Phase 2: The aft deck has been modernized (new upholstery, new teak flooring under the U-sofa, new tent (summer & winter), new Kabola, new PC-Navigo navigation computer, new fresh and waste water pumps, new toilets (2 x Planus)).
Condition and Amenities
This unique Pilot 50 is in exceptional condition due to its maintenance and renovation history. The spacious interiors with numerous storage spaces and necessary amenities make the yacht a true all-rounder for the whole family (3 cabins - 5 people) or with friends, regardless of the season and location (off grid).
Engine Room and Systems
The hydraulic system of the trim tabs has been overhauled (cylinders and pump). In the engine room, all exhaust and seawater intake lines of the engines and generator have been replaced, along with new seawater pumps for the engines and generator (2022/23). Cleaning and inspection of the heat exchangers of the engines (water/air, water/oil, water/coolant) is scheduled for late 2024. Installation of a system with a 24 V electric suction and discharge pump to replace the engine and reversing coupling oil. A removable panel has been installed in the port wall of the engine room to facilitate the replacement of the seawater turbine (impeller). Installation of 220-volt LED lighting strips alongside the original 24-volt circuit in the engine room, storage room, and battery room.
Safety and Connectivity
An X-Sense smoke and fire detection system with 3 detectors: 1 in the kitchen, 1 in the engine room, and 1 in the lazarette. An EZVIZ camera in the engine room and Ruuvi temperature sensors for the refrigerator, freezer, and engine room, which are visible on both the Victron GX 70 screen and via VRM. With a Wi-Fi router and a Yacht Router SIM card, you can set up your own Wi-Fi network. The 3 TVs and DVD players are Smart TVs with a direct internet connection via the router or from your phone.
Additional Features
The boat comes with a custom-made carbon gangway named Blue Sky. A logbook detailing all work performed since 2020 is available, prepared in two languages: Dutch and French. This document is supplemented with a PowerPoint presentation, also in two languages, with photos of the work performed. The seller is fully willing to train his successor, both at the dock and while sailing this beautiful ship.
