A must see - Best-selling midsize convertible of her day, the Hatteras went head to head against the Bertram 46 Convertible. With her spacious accommodations and upscale teak interior, the Hatteras 46 set the standards for every other boat in her class. Built on a solid fiberglass hull with a full-length keel.
This is the popular two stateroom plan. The original galley-down layout features an amidships master stateroom with twin berths and a large private head. Over/under berths are located in the forward guest stateroom with private access to the second head.
Aside from being an excellent sportfishing boat with good open-water handling characteristics, the traditional teak interior made her a popular choice with cruisers. A tackle center with sink, livewell, and transom door were standard in the 125 square-foot cockpit. Huge 8-cylinder high output diesels (600hp 8V92TIs) push this 46 footer to 27 knots.
Happy Daze was completely gutted and refitted starting in 2003. She was restored to her former glory and is a beautiful piece of history today.

ENGINE MOUNTS AND BED:Main engine beds are (FRP) over heavy timber longitudinal stringers inboard and outboard, with longitudinal Aluminum channel over encapsulated srigers; In conjunction, adjustable motor mountsare bolted to the stringers and are used to adjust the prop shaft alignment as well as secure the engines to the hull stringer structure. Sounded and meter tested, without negative report. Condition:Serviceable.
Level and Condition: Serviceable. Filters: Engine mounted spin on/off canister type filters.
VENTILATION:Natural, flow ventilation provided by topside's hull vents. Adequate.
EXHAUST SYSTEM:From Stainless engine mounted pipes USCG approved flexible hose aft to FRP (fiber reinforced plastic) power pac/lift type system silencers located under the cockpit sole. Then exiting through topside'sfittings at hull sides port and starboard aft near transom. Hose to pipe connections are double clamped where sighted. (See findings A.1 Exhaust System).
LUBE TRANSFER:Lubrication transfer system X- Change-R type. Location: Aft engine room center.
INSULATION:Aluminized 2" foam rubber sound deadening insulation was noted under the engine room andthroughout the engine space. Well attached, Serviceable.
ENGINE ALARMS:Low oil pressure alarm and coolant over heat warning audible at helm station. Appears serviceable.

This is an open cockpit with center positioned transom door and molded Mezzanine against the forward bulkhead. The Mezzanine provides for a port positioned live bait well and stowage compartment. Mezzanine starboard provides for tackle draws, top storage compartment and stowage below.
FIGHTING CHAIRS:Pomanette fighting chair is pedestal mounted in the cockpit. Condition: Good, securely fastened.
LIVE BAIT WELLS:One molded in the Mezzanine to port. Condition: Serviceable.
WASH DOWN SYSTEM:Fresh and raw water deck wash downs. Location: Port forward cockpit. The fresh water washdown/shower is located in the port storage cabinet and serviceable.
Down and to starboard. The galley is arranged in an L-Shape. With stowage above and below the Corian counter top. Equipped with a single stainless steel sink, Princess 110 v Two (2) burner cook top, KitchenAid microwave oven and full sized Frigidaire refrigerator/freezer. Condition: All cabinets appear as new. All appliances are operable.
