Few yachts manage to combine sailing performance, build quality and cruising comfort as successfully as the Maxi 1100. Designed by Pelle Petterson, the Maxi 1100 has earned an enviable reputation as a fast, capable and beautifully balanced cruising yacht, equally rewarding under sail as she is comfortable in harbour.
Below decks, the Maxi 1100 offers a bright and welcoming interior with generous accommodation, while on deck her secure cockpit and easily managed sail plan make her ideal for both short-handed sailing and longer passages.
This 2003 example benefits from standing rigging replaced in 2018 and represents an excellent opportunity to acquire a well-maintained example of this highly regarded Scandinavian cruising yacht.
The comprehensive inventory includes diesel fired warm air heating, radar, AIS transponder, hybrid touchscreen chart plotter, electric anchor windlass, dinghy with electric outboard and much more.

A few years ago my wife invited herself onto someone’s Maxi at a fuelling jetty, and we knew what our next boat would be. Pretty soon we had our own Maxi1000 and then our much loved Maxi1100, the Jammy Dodger. She is a delight to sail and easy to manoeuvre; nifty in a race, sturdy in a blow, and comfortable in harbour. I have wonderful memories of trips near and far on the boat, including to Normandy, the Channel Islands and the Isles of Scilly - sometimes with my growing children and their friends, other times with friends of my own. We never quite won the Round the Island Race, but certainly enjoyed trying.
The boat has been professionally antifouled and polished every year, and the engine properly serviced. The standing rigging and sail drive seal are comfortably in date. I have recently upgraded the chart plotter and invested in a wonderful electric outboard.
That all said, age is creeping up on me and it really is time to hang up my sea boots. Parting with Jammy Dodger feels like sacrificing a limb, but it is a comfort to think of her next owner enjoying her as much as my friends, my family and I have.
