The J/109 is the embodiment of the cruiser/racer and has made a name for J/Boats in this segment. At J/Boats, sailing comes first, and the rest of the choices are derived from that.
This J/109 was built in 2005 and launched in 2006 in England. In 2009, it was brought to the Netherlands by the current owner. This means that there are English sockets on board.
The boat has had annual maintenance and has been taken out of the water each year for polishing, waxing, and new antifouling. The engine has also been serviced annually. Additionally, the keel bolts were tightened last year, and in 2010, the rudder bearings were replaced. Recently, a leak at the transom and stern light was repaired.
This J/109 is equipped with a roller genoa and, of course, the famous J/Boats retractable bowsprit.
In the cockpit, there is the highly sought-after removable dock box that closes off the back of the boat and can easily be placed on the shore for racing and put back in. The bimini is as good as new because it has never been used. Above the companionway and at the mast are the instrument displays, next to the steering wheel are the engine controls and the autopilot controls.
Inside, the boat is equipped with pilot berths for more storage space. There is some cosmetic damage and signs of use inside. But nothing that hinders normal use. The layout includes a large forward cabin, a portside cabin aft, a starboard wet cell, and a large storage area accessible from both the wet cell and the cockpit.
