Discover Huldra II, an exceptionally well-maintained Salona 40 from 2005. This "dry sailed" cruiser-racer has recent 2025 upgrades, including a new heating system, boiler, and anchor winch. Fully ready to sail. The Salona 40 "Huldra II" is a unique, very well-maintained performance cruiser from 2005, designed by J&J. This sporty cruiser-racer combines fantastic sailing characteristics and winning potential with excellent comfort for long journeys. What makes this yacht particularly attractive is that it is "dry sailed": the boat is in the water for six months a year and spends the other six months in a covered shed. Thanks to impressive recent upgrades—such as a completely new Webasto heating system (2025), a new Isotemp boiler (2025), and a new electric anchor winch (2025)—this ship is in top condition and fully ready to enjoy immediately.Hull, Deck & Exterior The Huldra II has a composite GRP hull, beautifully finished in AWL Grip dark blue. Below the waterline is a fin keel with bulb, made of cast iron and lead. The hull was freshly coated in 2026 with Micron Eur self-polishing antifouling (color dover white). The deck is equipped with a GRP non-slip gelcoat, while the comfortable cockpit is beautifully laid with teak. The ship steers very smoothly thanks to the steering wheel with Lewmar Whitlock steering system and self-adjusting JEFA bearings. A new Quick Prince DP3 700 Watt anchor winch was installed on the deck in 2025. The cockpit is further equipped with a cockpit table, bimini, cockpit tent, outdoor shower, and cockpit cushions. Rigging & Sails The Sparcraft aluminum mast and rigging are subjected to a full inspection annually. The extensive set of quality sails is also checked every year by the sailmaker. The ship is easy to handle, partly thanks to the electric Harken winch on the cabin roof and a traveler for a self-tacking jib. The sail wardrobe includes: Main sail (Elvstrom, epex double taffeta) with lazyjacks, lazybag, and cover. Genoa 2 and Genoa 3 (both Elvstrom, epex double taffeta) on a Harken Mk IV roller system. Genoa 1 and Storm jib (both UKsails, dacron). Symmetrical Spinnaker (supercote 90, from 2022) with carbon spinnaker pole. Gennaker (code 0, CL 50 laminate). Navtec hydraulic backstay tensioner and Sparcraft downhaul. Engine & Technology At the center of the ship lies a powerful and reliable Yanmar 3JH4E diesel engine that delivers 40 hp (29 kW). The engine has approximately 1000 running hours. The last extensive engine service was performed in February 2026. The drive is via a SailDrive (SD 40-3) with a Flexofold 2-blade folding propeller. In 2024, the saildrive membranes (A and B) were completely renewed. The fuel system has a capacity of 200 liters (PVC tank), giving the ship a range of 400 nautical miles. The top speed is 8.4 knots, with a cruising speed of 6.5 knots. On board, there is also a Zivan NG1 battery charger and 220v shore power. Interior & Comfort Below deck, you are welcomed into a luxurious and timeless cherry wood interior, stylishly combined with dark blue synthetic upholstery. The layout is very practical and offers sleeping space for 6 people divided over 3 spacious cabins. There is one complete bathroom with toilet. The galley is equipped with a stove with oven and a refrigerator. Staying on board is comfortable in all seasons thanks to the completely newly installed Webasto heating in 2025 and the new Isotherm hot water boiler. A radio/CD player with cockpit speakers provides entertainment on board. Furthermore, there is a water tank of 175 liters and a waste water tank of 70 liters. Navigation & Equipment The navigation corner is equipped with a spacious chart table and high-quality equipment for long sea voyages: Extensive Raymarine instruments, including Depth sounder, Log, Wind meter, and GPS Chart plotter. Raymarine autopilot with smart controller. Horizon VHF radio (fixed and portable) with AIS, supplemented by a Raymarine AIS with antenna splitter. Furuno NX 30 Navtex. WiFi repeater and multifunction instrument. Plastimo compass.
