The 2010 Hanse 400, a twin-wheel version with three cabins and two bathrooms, is a modern sailboat that combines design, performance, ease of handling, and comfort. One owner. This boat has been well cared for and maintained, so it shows no signs of wear. It has also never been in a major accident or run aground.
Both inside and on deck, it feels like you're on a sailboat a meter longer. Despite this, its registered length is 11.99 meters, meaning that in Spain it pays less than half the fees of a sailboat over 12 meters.
Structurally, it is a very solid sailboat. The main bulkheads are laminated to the hull and deck. Numerous fiberglass reinforcements have also been added. The hull is constructed using isophthalic gelcoat and a first layer of vinylester to protect it against osmosis.
The boat was initially used for cruising and in recent years has been used for club racing. For this reason, it comes equipped with several sets of sails and some extras (mainsheet in cockpit, bowsprit, center backstay with gearing, genoa sheets with cockpit adjustment, folding propeller, profiled centerboard, etc.). The owner continues to race the boat while it is for sale, and therefore many items (cushion cushions, some furniture, etc.) are missing from the photos. These items are in storage and will be installed at the time of sale. These items are in very good condition. A good example is the galley, which has just been installed and is like new.
The cockpit is very spacious. The mainsheet is an optional feature for this model, added for racing. If the primary use will be cruising, the mainsheet can be removed, leaving the mainsheet's anchorage above the cabin and the cockpit free, as it was originally. The original mainsheet is also a German-style sheet and is adjusted on both sides from the winches located near the wheels. This feature, along with the self-tacking jib, makes it very manageable with a small crew.
The aft bench, which serves as a seat while sailing, is also stowed away and therefore not shown in the photos. It can be seen in some catalog photos that we have added to this listing to give a more realistic idea of the boat with all its components installed.
The carbon bowsprit was installed to accommodate the asymmetric spinnakers. It can be easily removed. The anchor tip is currently disassembled but will be reinstalled. It can be used with the carbon bowsprit still attached.
The backstay has also been modified. The original was a double-ended engine with adjustment on one side, but it was converted to a single-ended engine with a higher gear ratio.
The keel has been reshaped, allowing the boat to get going much faster, especially in light winds.
The radar antenna will also be reinstalled soon.
The engine is a well-maintained 40-horsepower Yanmar, which allows it to reach a cruising speed of 7 knots.
