SUN ODYSSEY 52.2 – VERSION 4 CABINS / 4 BATHROOMS – GRAND VOYAGE
For sale, magnificent Sun Odyssey 52.2 from 1999 in the 4 cabin and 4 bathroom version with WC. This bluewater sailing yacht was acquired in Croatia in 2011 and has since sailed mainly in the Caribbean and Central America, about four months a year. It features a configuration particularly suited for long-distance travel and life on board.
The boat measures 14.92 m in administrative length for 15.55 m overall, with a width of 4.85 m and a draft of 1.80 m thanks to its bulb keel.
The engine is provided by a Yanmar 4JH2TE of 100 HP showing about 4,800 hours. Used with care, never pushed beyond 2,200 rpm, it starts perfectly and offers reasonable consumption with a speed of about 5 knots at 1,800 rpm.
The rigging consists of a large genoa on a furler with a 120% overlap, a staysail on a furler ideal for sailing close-hauled in a breeze, as well as a mainsail on a furler in the mast, all in very good condition. The standing rigging was completely replaced in 2010. The boat also features a large bimini top, a spacious bimini, and a large custom-made anodized aluminum arch built in 2013.
The arch supports four solar panels totaling 540 W as well as a 6-foot Caribe dinghy delivered with two outboard motors, a Yamaha 15 HP two-stroke and a Hidea 5 HP two-stroke. The anchoring is ensured by a new Lofrans Tigre windlass of 1,700 W installed in 2025 with 50 meters of 12 mm chain.
The electronics include a Raymarine 7000 autopilot with type 2 power unit, a Raymarine sounder, a recent NASA wind vane-anemometer, a Garmin GPS chartplotter with radar, an Advansea T56 external display, a Mer Veille radar detector, a class B AIS receiver, a fixed VHF, a Victron 30 A charger, and a Quick 1.5 kW bow thruster.
For autonomy on board, the boat is equipped with a 60 liters per hour watermaker installed in Trinidad in 2014, known for its reliability and simplicity. The battery bank includes 500 Ah for service, 100 Ah for the engine, and 100 Ah dedicated to the bow thruster. A portable 1,300 W generator completes the equipment.
