1999 Moody S31 Bilge Keel – JUNO
Lying: Emsworth Yacht Harbour
JUNO is a well-presented and extensively equipped example of the highly regarded Moody S31, designed by Bill Dixon and built by Marine Projects. Launched in 1999, she is the sought-after bilge keel version with a shallow 1.14m draft, offering excellent versatility for exploring shallow waters, drying moorings and coastal cruising, whilst retaining the impressive sailing performance for which the S31 is renowned.
Under her current ownership since 2009, JUNO has been carefully maintained and thoughtfully upgraded. She has never been raced or chartered and has been used solely for private cruising.
The Moody S31 should not be confused with the earlier Moody 31. The S31 features a modern hull design, fractional rig and spacious interior layout, providing comfortable accommodation for up to six people in two separate cabins plus saloon berths.
Powered by a Volvo Penta MD2020 19hp freshwater-cooled diesel engine driving through a saildrive with Darglow Flexofold folding propeller and Ambassador rope cutter, JUNO offers reliable and economical cruising. The saildrive seal was replaced in 2010 and a new alternator was fitted in 2024.
Her fractional rig comprises a Selden aluminium mast and boom with Furlex headsail furling system, slab-reefed mainsail with stackpack and lazyjacks, a part-battened Hood mainsail and a Jeckells genoa with foam luff fitted in 2017.
Navigation equipment includes a Garmin chartplotter with AIS target display, speed, depth and wind instruments, binnacle and bulkhead compasses, Garmin GPS at the chart table and instrument repeaters.
Below decks, JUNO offers the quality joinery and spacious accommodation synonymous with Moody yachts. The layout features a generous aft double cabin, forward double cabin, two single saloon berths and a dedicated rear-facing chart table. Comfort aboard is enhanced by pressurised hot and cold water, Eberspächer diesel heating, Waeco refrigeration and shore power with battery charger.
Key Features:
JUNO represents an excellent opportunity to acquire one of the most versatile and popular cruising yachts in her class. Equally at home coastal cruising, exploring shallow anchorages or drying harbours, she combines comfort, performance and practicality in a highly desirable package.
Viewing strictly by appointment at Emsworth Yacht Harbour.
