Dufour 30 Classic for relaxed sailing adventures
Why is this Dufour 30 Classic the right choice for you? This Dufour 30 Classic from 1999 is an attractive used sailing boat for those who wish to sail comfortably on lakes, rivers, ponds, and coastal waters. With a length of 8.99 meters, a beam of 3 meters, and a draft of 1.55 meters, it offers a beautiful combination of sailing performance, maneuverability, and living space. The round hull shape, aluminum mast, and tiller steering provide a classic sailing experience. From the cockpit, the primary sail handling operations are easily accessible, making it suitable for a skipper who often sails alone or with a small crew.
The Dufour 30 Classic has been used for day trips, weekend getaways, and longer vacations. Its previous owner has sailed her on the IJsselmeer, the Wadden Sea, in Zeeland, and on the Braassemermeer. This has proven her versatility as a cruising sailboat for both sheltered inland waters and more expansive sailing areas. The spacious cockpit invites long days outdoors while the cockpit tent provides extra shelter when the weather is less inviting.

How much living space and sleeping comfort does she offer?
Inside, this Dufour features a practical layout with a standing height of approximately 1.75 meters. In the bow is a double berth and there is also space for two people in the aft cabin. In the saloon are two benches around a table where two extra sleeping places can be created, allowing the boat to accommodate four fixed and two additional sleeping places in total.
The cabin is designed for comfortable stays during vacations and weekends. It includes a galley with stove, oven, refrigerator, and storage space. Additionally, there are mattresses available as well as a chart table and a separate wet cell. The manual toilet discharges directly to open water. The water tank has a capacity of 180 liters and the diesel tank holds 80 liters of fuel. Thanks to these amenities, she is suitable for independent stays on board, especially if you enjoy being out for several days at a time.
What engine and technical features are present?
The boat is equipped with a Volvo Penta MD2020 inboard diesel engine from 1999. This three-cylinder engine delivers 19 hp and features a saildrive. The indicated running hours are approximately 1,000 hours. The engine runs smoothly and consumes no more than about one liter of diesel per hour at normal cruising speed. Her cruising speed is around 9 kilometers per hour with a maximum speed of approximately 12.5 kilometers per hour.
In 2026, the engine oil, oil filter, and impeller were replaced. The engine starts electrically and is supported by an alternator for charging the batteries. On board are two batteries with a total capacity of 140 Ah. Furthermore, she has a battery charger, shore power connection with cord, and a 12V electrical system. The main switches are located in the aft cabin while the control panel is placed outside.
What sails and navigation equipment do you receive?
The sail plan consists of a mainsail, roller genoa (furling headsail), and an asymmetrical spinnaker (half-winder). The spinnaker is an additional sail that does not originally belong to this Dufour model. The sails are in reasonable condition and together provide options for relaxed cruising as well as sportier sailing. In 2025, a new roller genoa system was installed along with a new forestay; however, the current genoa does not fit into the profile of the roller genoa system. The roller genoa system works but not with the current headsail.
For navigation and control at sea there is a compass, depth sounder, log speedometer, tachometer, fuel tank gauge, oil pressure gauge, and temperature gauge on board. There is also radar available along with VHF radio equipment. An old GPS unit is present but no longer functions properly; additionally, the wind meter is defective. Some ceiling lights may not always work properly as well—these points should be taken into consideration when evaluating the boat.
What deck features and relaxation options are available?
Outside, the Dufour 30 Classic boasts a spacious cockpit with cockpit cushions and an individual cockpit table. The cockpit tent offers extra protection and allows wet items to dry outside of the cabin area. Additionally included are a bimini top, deck covers, lifelines, fenders, lines, swim platform with ladder; the self-draining cockpit along with an electric bilge pump enhances practical use on board.
Included with the boat are also a manually operated anchor windlass; an anchor with chain and line; VHF radio; lifeline; original Dufour plates; glasses; bowls; plus it comes with a Hydro Force dinghy that shows clear signs of use but accommodates two adults and two children—though it may be cramped for four people. The dinghy features a Mercury outboard motor from 2020 producing 3.5 hp.
What documents and maintenance information are available?
Included with the boat are a yard certificate; purchase contract from the previous owner; along with various manuals including those for the sailboat itself; Volvo Penta engine manual; plus descriptions of onboard components. The boat has always been taken out of water during winter months. In 2026 it was pulled from water for maintenance where its underwater hull received antifouling treatment—according to available information there are no signs of osmosis.
The current owner has had her since 2009 performing most maintenance themselves—cleaning and treating underwater surfaces during winter months while ensuring that above-water surfaces received attention in springtime care routines.
The Dufour 30 Classic currently lies on Braassemermeer awaiting sale due to less frequent use over recent years—this comfortable sailing boat awaits its new owner who can take her back out on adventures again!
