JAVELIN 30 – COMPLETELY RESTORED
This 1973 Javelin 30 is a very special unit, completely restored and ready to continue sailing for many years. A magnificent opportunity to acquire a classic sailboat with the character and solidity of boats from its era, but updated with modern engine, electronics, and facilities.
The Javelin 30 was designed by the prestigious British naval architect Frederick R. Parker as a cruiser-racer and built by Marine Construction —Marcon— in Southampton. Its design comes from a prototype of the RORC Half Ton class and combines elegant lines with good sailing performance, stability, and a very balanced seafaring behavior.
Its fiberglass hull, fin keel, and skeg-protected rudder correspond to a solid and traditional construction. The high ratio of ballast to displacement provides excellent stability, safety, and the ability to maintain sail when the wind increases. It is a noble boat, pleasant to steer, and especially suitable for those who truly enjoy sailing.
This unit has been fully restored, renewing and updating its main elements to offer a well-maintained, functional vessel ready to sail. It is equipped with a Solé Mini Diesel inboard engine of 16 HP installed in 2011, a reliable, economical power source perfectly suited to its dimensions.
The navigation equipment includes a Garmin GPS Plotter, Garmin 600 AIS, autopilot with remote control, depth sounder, weather station, barometer, and radio beacon. The autopilot and its remote control particularly facilitate solo sailing or sailing with a reduced crew.
The electrical installation has also been modernized with a 220 V circuit and shore power connection, battery charger and monitor, an independent battery for the engine and another for services, USB sockets, and LED interior lighting. It also features a Philips audio system with Bluetooth and interior and exterior speakers.
Its sloop rig is equipped with a Full Batten mainsail and roller genoa, a simple, effective, and manageable configuration. In May 2025, the underwater hull was treated with three layers of antifouling.
The interior includes a cabin, salon, marine bathroom, and a 50-liter fresh water reserve. Its layout is practical and retains the charm of a true classic sailboat, offering everything necessary for weekend outings and cruising.
It comes with safety equipment certified for Zone 4 and a valid navigation certificate until October 2027.
This Javelin 30 is ideal for anyone looking for a completely restored classic sailboat, solid, safe, and well-equipped, with excellent seafaring qualities and considerably easier maintenance than larger vessels. A boat with personality, history, and authentic sailing sensations.
