The Dufour 34 Performance retains the hull and sail plan of its highly successful predecessor, the renowned Dufour 34, a yacht whose racing pedigree speaks for itself. The original Dufour 34 was named “Yacht of the Year 2003” in France and went on to achieve numerous significant results, including victory in the Copa del Rey in 2004, the Spi Ouest France in 2008, winning the overall classification across all classes, and the Voiles de Saint-Tropez in 2009, as well as strong results in major offshore events such as the Fastnet Race.
The Dufour 34 can therefore rightly be considered the very definition of a cruiser-racer: a yacht capable of delivering genuine sailing performance without compromising the comfort and seaworthiness required for cruising.
The 34 Evolution further develops this successful concept. The larger cockpit, with its wide opening aft, makes the exterior spaces even more practical and enjoyable, while weight-saving measures contribute to the yacht’s performance. Below deck, the completely redesigned interior and fittings make the 34E a significantly evolved yacht, offering greater comfort and functionality while retaining the seaworthiness and sailing qualities for which the model is renowned.
SARAYU remained with her first owner from 2011 until September 2024. She was then acquired by the current owner together with a close friend and co-owner. Subsequently, the current owner acquired the co-owner’s share and became the sole registered owner. SARAYU is now being offered for sale as her owner is looking to move up to a larger yacht suitable for longer voyages.
The yacht has been carefully maintained throughout her ownership and has benefited from numerous technical maintenance works, as well as a series of intelligent and practical carpentry improvements.
One of the previous owners was a highly skilled carpenter and used his expertise to design and build a number of bespoke solutions on board. These include clever storage arrangements and small practical features designed to make better use of the available space, increase storage capacity and further improve the yacht’s functionality, always respecting the original design and without altering its character or configuration.
