UPGRADES

January 2025: Four New 100 Ah AGM House batteries, plus engine battery.

This is a VERY VERSATILE boat. You can either have TWO MASSIVE SUITES, with THREE heads, or THREE, or even FOUR CABINS! A great feature is that the forward cabin has His & Hers Heads with Showers. Or you can use one just for showering and keeping the other one dry. Either way, the two heads for the forward cabin are a great comfort.
So, when you visit this boat, what strikes you most is how versatile the layout is.
To stern, you have a very spacious full-beam aft cabin, also with an en-suite head. Now play with dividing walls, and you can transform this boat into a three or even a four cabin boat! Even in the four cabin arrangement, you can sleep eight. Not to mention the dinette that can drop and become a berth for two.
And it has three heads to accommodate that crew! For that reason too, it comes with a 10 person life raft.
As a serious blue water boat, the dinghy is stored on the forward deck.
At the Stern, there is a solar panel frame, with support for the outboard motor, and a propane barbecue
Real teak is found throughout the cockpit and decks. A complete new set of Raymarine electronics has been installed at both Helms in 2020.
A new Raymarine Axiom-12 chart plotter was installed in March 2023 at the NAV station.
The current owner purchased her in Europe and sailed safely uncomfortably with his family, all the way from the Mediterranean to the Caribbean, and then up to Fort Lauderdale, followed by many sailing trips to Key West, the Abaco's and the Bahamas.
In December 2021, he sailed to the Dominican Republic and then to Puerto Rico. The owner uses the boat about two or three times a year as he lives in Brazil and comes whenever business allows.
She is US Duty Tax Paid, making her "Available for Sail to US Residents while in US Waters".
In July of 2021 we restored the teak decks, polished all the chrome, fiberglass deck, and hull, and restored the inside cabinetry.
Check out the photo gallery. In August of 2021 we refinished any blemishes to the gel code on the deck, addressing any spider cracks or chips that are occur on any used boat. In January 2023 new bottom paint was applied.
I love working with this owner as he has an open checkbook mentality. Just now in February 2026, he added a third anchor. A 25 kg Rockna anchor.
Manufacturer Description:
Jeanneau presents the signature new model for 2005. The Sun Odyssey 49 DS was conceived using the Deck Salon concept of the Sun Odyssey 54 DS. Like her big sister, she adopts the teardrop-shaped windows; a key to the success and something to emulate. Her performance-orientated hull designed by Philippe Briand / Jeanneau Design and the new generation deck line created by Vittorio Garroni ensures the boat is not only elegant but comfortable at sea.
