After 9 years of unforgettable cruising, from the turquoise shallows of the Bahamas to the lush bays of Grenada and every gorgeous anchorage in between, Lost Loon, a 2005 Caliber 40 LRC SE, is being offered for sale. She spent her first 5 years in fresh water and was winterized every season. Her original owner spent those years outfitting her for full time cruising. In 2011, she left the Great Lakes for the Caribbean spending hurricane seasons in Grenada, on the hard.
Lost Loon was sold in 2015 to her current owners, who have carried on the tradition of meticulously maintaining and upgrading her systems. Likewise, hurricane seasons were spent hauled-out and protected with full sun cover. This is a rare opportunity to own one of the most capable blue water cruisers in her class, renowned for comfort, safety, storage and long-range capability. Caliber's trademark* design incorporates a Multi-Bulkhead Bonding System*, an Integral Strength-Grid System* for strength and safety, integral baffled tanks act as double bottoms while adding tremendous rigidity to the hull structure, with additional strength from the integral sub-sole. Additionally, there is a Water-Tight Collision Bulkhead*.
Hulls are built for outstanding resistance to collisions, with extra layers of solid fiberglass at potential impact points. In case of damage to the bow or rudder, a Watertight Collision Bulkhead and Rudder Dam are designed to minimize flooding.

Instead of a cramped V-berth, there is a full forward stateroom with a generous offset double berth with ample storage space and drawers below; shelf and book rack over berth; and two-door large cedar-lined hanging locker and one-door locker with shelf storage. The master forward cabin features a private, spacious head with its own separate shower that is enclosed by a plexiglass door. Together, the forward cabin and head offer luxurious livability for extended stays.
