The Rodman 42 was designed and built on behalf of the Spanish royal family to beat the Italian Grand Soleil, which it successfully did. King Felipe was the driving force behind this development. Rodman is a major Spanish boat builder, specializing in motorboats. A total of 7 Rodman 42s were built. The boat was the ORC world champion in 2003 under the name Telefonica Movistar and in 2010 under the name Beluga. The boat has been modified to comply with current ORC rules, featuring a different keel and bowsprit. Subsequently, the boat achieved numerous successes with the Phosphorus team. In recent years, it has participated in local and international races, including the 2023 and 2025 Fastnet races. The boat is ready to sail the next Fastnet. Over the last 3 years, €80,000 has been invested in the boat.
