About
Faith is a great example of the Westerly Sealord 39. A centre cockpit all weather sailing vessel that offers lots of flexible accomodation, two heads and the feeling that she will take you anywhere without fear or trepidation, in the knowledge that she will get you safely home as well.
Purchased by her current owners in 2021, she has since had a cosmetic refit with new upholstery throught to complement the work that was carried out in 2020.
The current owner has spent his life on and around boats and worked with the reknowned boat builder Peter Nicholls. He was very much taken with the solid construction of the Westerly when working with Peter at the Boat Show in 1983, adjacent to the Westerly stand and in particular, the Sealord 39, so much so that when the time came, it was the only boat that fully meant his requirements.
Prior to his purchase, the following work that was completed included (but was not limited to):
The engine is also recent (a 2020 survey states that it was documented as being 6 years old at the time) and has covered only 955 hours.
All in all, she offers the best of all worlds with her inmast furling and centre cockpit set up, this is a great boat to make longer passages, the cockpit being deep enough to give a feeling of solidity and keep you dry.
Down below, In the fore, there is a double berth with infil, heads with shower attachment to port and two hanging lockers to starboard.
Moving into the saloon, there is a full surround of seats with the port opening up to make a double berth. There is a generous centre table with two leaves that open to make a large entertaining space.
The galley is well equiped with a fridge and cool box as well a stainless sink, gas cooker and plenty of storage.
The Nav Station to port features all the switches and gauges you would expect and is very traditional in its layout. behind that is a "corridor" to the aft cabin that makes good use of space by providing lots of storage and an additional berth. There is also access to the engine compartment in addition to that found under the companionway steps.
The Aft cabin offers a double to starboard and a single to port. The heads are to starboard and additional storage is easily accessed.
Up on deck, she is GRP, never having had teak fitted, she appears in great order, she is clean, bright and modern looking with new covers to protect the hatches, new sprayhood and wheel cover. The windows have been removed and re-seated by the current owner and being glass do not suffer from UV crazing.
The hull is freshly polished and presents well, with the underwater profile having had a couple of coats of antifoul over a diminished copper coat.
Westerly only built 42 of these between 1983 and 1987, not all were of this configuration, so if this meets your requirements we would advocate an early viewing.
