Scandinavian quality – recent refit – ready for serious sea voyages
Meet Shieldmaiden, an exceptionally well-maintained Malö 45 Classic from 2001. This model is known for its solid construction, safe sailing characteristics, and the warm, timeless interior that Malö is valued for worldwide.
Although officially a 45 Classic, the hull is identical to the later built 46 Classic – a proven and highly regarded base within the Malö series.Refits & upgrades
In 2019, Shieldmaiden underwent a thorough refit at the Malö yard in Orust, Sweden, which included:
Completely new teak deck
New generator
New, extra heavy rigging
Updated heating system
In 2023, the following were also replaced:
AIS system
Roll genoa
Mattresses for: Neptune Comfort plus line mattresses airlift 10 mm.
Furthermore, it is equipped with four electric winches, making sailing comfortable and efficient, even with a small crew.Design & comfort
The Malö 45 Classic is designed for comfortable and safe offshore sailing.
The deep center cockpit with targa arch offers excellent protection and visibility. The deck plan is practical and well thought out, suitable for both long crossings and relaxed coastal cruising.

Spacious, light salon
Practical and safe galley
Separate wet cell with shower
Forward cabin with separate toilet and shower
Two generous aft cabins
Large, easily accessible engine room
