One of the fastest Sunseekers ever built - a remarkable, restored “hull number one” of the iconic Sunseeker XS2000 model, a truly one-of-a-kind model. OverviewThis 1999 Sunseeker XS2000 is hull number one and previously part of Sunseeker founder Robert Braithwaite's collection. Purchased almost as a shell, she has since undergone an extraordinary eight-year restoration by her current owner, with hundreds of thousands spent. In essence, almost everything on this boat is either new or has been fully refurbished. The XS2000 was itself a landmark model for Sunseeker, its deep-V performance hull developed in partnership with renowned Italian offshore race boat designer Fabio Buzzi - the pedigree behind the kind of speed this boat is capable of. Fitted with twin 480hp Yanmar diesel engines installed by the main dealer, this Sunseeker XS2000 has a top speed of around 70 knots, making her one of the fastest Sunseekers ever produced. Few, if any, examples of this model exist in such comprehensively restored condition and with this level of documentation.Given the scope and quality of this restoration, a photographic record of the refit is available to serious enquiries on request. ExteriorThis Sunseeker XS2000 has a strikingly beautiful look, pulling in elements of a modern style with iconic classic Sunseeker design. The topsides and hull have been meticulously prepared and sprayed, finished in a metallic dark grey with a single black stripe and Sunseeker logo, hand-sprayed and finished with 15 coats of lacquer. The chrome grab rails have been powder coated and painted in black to blend into the aesthetic - a show-quality finish throughout. The helm has two individual pilot sections to stand while operating and three guest seats immediately behind, followed by a large sunpad. The bathing platform is fitted with a deck shower, boarding steps and shore power connection, with a storage compartment beneath the aft platform along with a water tank to facilitate the deck shower. Two aft cleats are positioned on the aft wings, with navigation lights sited mid-aft and exhaust grilles integrated into the upper sections of the bulwarks. As part of the restoration, a new manual anchor has been fitted along with new tonneau covers and a helm cover. The cockpit features a central seating area for approximately six guests, over a teak sole, with a sliding cover fitted to shield the upholstery while underway and to provide a more aerodynamic, sporty profile. New Sunseeker-inspired upholstery has been fitted throughout the boat, and a fridge has been installed beneath the forward seating area.InteriorForward, a cosy double cabin provides optional accommodation or stowage. The heads compartment has been refitted with a new WC and basin, along with new panelling, as part of the wider restoration - as has the forward cabin, which has also received new panelling throughout.Performance & TechThis XS2000 is powered by twin 480hp Yanmar diesel engines installed by the main dealer, giving a top speed in excess of 70 knots - placing her among the fastest Sunseekers ever built. As part of the restoration, the engines were fully stripped checked and inspected by the Yanmar main dealer, with all new hoses, ancillaries, wiring, dials and electronic engine controls fitted, and any worn parts replaced. The entire electrical system, along with the fresh water and waste systems, has been renewed to original Sunseeker manufacturer recommendations. At the helm, a black console houses a Sunseeker factory steering wheel, Livorsi throttle controls and instrumentation, a Simrad navigation display and VHF, and a Fusion Bluetooth audio system, alongside Yanmar engine start/stop controls. Instrumentation also covers fuel level, engine hours, water level, voltage and speed. This Sunseeker XS2000 has to be seen in person to fully appreciate the work and design that has gone into the restoration - a piece of Sunseeker history.
