Owner's opinion
After many years of semi-offshore sailing, first under sail and then by motor, with age we decided to stop. However, missing the sea... we took a smaller boat (Antarès 7) which quickly proved too cramped, hence the move to the Antares 9. We appreciated, for life at the port, a well-suited layout with notably good-sized cabins, an ergonomic bathroom with shower, a functional kitchen (given the size of the boat), and a well-sized cockpit offering, with the full cover, a very pleasant living space even in bad weather. Also noteworthy is a large cockpit locker and generally many storage options including high side furniture in the front cabin. While sailing, we enjoy a comfortable helm station associated with a very pleasant "crew" bench and very good visibility. A side door allows for convenient access to the outside with a rare capacity for ventilation appreciated by the helmsman on nice days. An excellent hull allows for serene navigation with reasonable consumption at 6-7 knots and 20-22 knots and a high top speed of 38 knots. We have sailed from La Rochelle to Loctudy always safely and appreciated, when the sea state was favorable, average speeds of over 20 knots.
