Owner's opinion
Retired aerospace engineer. Over 50 years of offshore sailing, initially on a Sigma 30 in steel (Joubert design) fitted out from a bare hull, then on a JNF 38 in thick aluminum built entirely by amateurs. Tired of long transoceanic crossings, the idea of a boat suited for a European maritime and river navigation program emerged, inspired by the Ecotroll (Brouns + Méta). While maintaining a rigging that supports the engines for safety and comfort. Technical design prioritizing reliability, maintainability while limiting maintenance. The concept appealed to JP Brouns and Kanawa perfectly fulfilled its program with numerous trips to Ireland, Scotland, Spain, and a good part of the canals and rivers of France without any technical issues. Today, for me, the sailing chapter turns in favor of other modes of travel.
