She came off the slips at Alufast in Australia in 1986 — solid aluminum, built like the Australians build things: to last, and to go places. Her first life was as a working cruise ship in Australian waters, and if you know anything about the Australian coast, you know that's a proper apprenticeship. Then in 1998, she was taken apart and rebuilt to a Garvin Mair Marine design — not a refit, a rebirth — and reborn as a luxury cruise catamaran in French Polynesia. Which is where she has been quietly making guests happy ever since.
That history matters. Haumana isn't a new build with a brochure and a prayer.
