Built in Oregon by Bounty Yachts, this one-of-a-kind 34-foot custom pilothouse combines the substantial construction, interior volume and offshore capability of a diesel-powered Northwest vessel with the speed, maneuverability and serviceability of modern outboard power.
Originally equipped with twin diesels, the vessel underwent an extensive professional conversion in 2019. The original power package was removed and a custom offshore bracket/pod was fabricated and installed in Sooke, British Columbia. Twin 2019 Suzuki 350-horsepower dual-prop outboards were then installed, with the engine rigging and electronics completed by Stryker Electronics in Port Hardy.
The owner has retained the paperwork documenting the conversion and work performed.
The Suzukis currently have approximately 1,150 hours. The current owner purchased the boat when the engines had approximately 100 hours and has maintained them regularly, with service and operating information recorded in the vessel’s logbook.
At cruise, the boat runs approximately 27 knots at 4,400–4,600 RPM, burning approximately 26 gallons per hour combined. Suzuki fly-by-wire controls are installed at both the forward helm and rear cockpit station, along with troll mode for precise low-speed operation.
The helm is equipped with a capable Furuno NXT electronics package, including:
The rear control station is a major advantage when trolling, working gear, docking or maneuvering from the cockpit.
The boat is equipped for extended fishing trips, cruising and overnight use.
The Espar system adds real year-round usability, making the boat well suited for the Pacific Northwest, British Columbia and Alaska.
The enclosed pilothouse provides protection from the weather while still offering comfortable overnight accommodations.
The forward berth sleeps two, and the dinette converts into an additional sleeping area. The interior also includes a refrigerator, cooking surface, freshwater head, shower, hot water and diesel heat.
Whether used for an overnight fishing trip, extended cruising or lodge and charter support, the boat offers substantially more interior space and storage than many modern outboard boats in this size range.
This Bounty was built to be used.
The cockpit offers the working room serious fishermen need, while the dual-station configuration allows the operator to control the boat without leaving the action. Oversized fish holds provide substantial capacity for salmon, halibut, tuna or other offshore fisheries.
Additional features include:
The six-person life raft is included but will require recertification before being placed back into service.
What separates this boat from typical 34-foot pilothouse vessels is the combination of its heavy custom construction, massive interior and storage capacity, professionally engineered outboard conversion, modern Suzuki power and capable Furuno electronics.
It can serve as a serious sportfishing platform, comfortable coastal cruiser, charter vessel, lodge boat or offshore support vessel. It offers the space and substantial feel of a traditional diesel boat without the machinery occupying the interior engine compartment.
This is a highly customized vessel with far more equipment and capability than can be fully conveyed in an advertisement. It needs to be seen in person to appreciate its layout, construction, storage and overall presence.
Professionally converted, documented, maintained and ready for its next owner.
Located in the water at Port Sidney Marina in Sidney, British Columbia, on southern Vancouver Island.
