This Moonen 68 'Rio Grande' was built for a highly experienced owner from the professional maritime industry. At the owner's request during construction, the ship was made soundproof following an acoustic study by Van Cappellen, resulting in exceptional insulation and noise reduction. The current and 3rd owner of the Rio Grande had a flybridge manufactured in 2021, providing a beautiful additional seating area and an extra helm station with all basic functions. The flybridge was designed and built by renowned Dutch shipbuilding parties. Onboard, in addition to the 20 Moonen construction folders, there are also 2 new folders documenting the refit and construction of the Flybridge. All drawings and calculations are included. The 2021 refit included various works such as: complete ship reupholstery, mattress renewal, addition of an extra child's bed in the SB forward cabin, full replacement of lighting with LED lighting, installation of interior sunshades/blinds, replacement of AIS Class A & Navigation equipment with PC Navigo, replacement of motor controls and actuators (Aventics / Bosch / Rexroth), installation of a completely new flybridge with benches and windscreen, addition of a second helm station on the flybridge, installation of extra tender supports at the rear for Williams Sport 395 (not included), new kitchen in the wheelhouse with fridge/cooktop/sink/cabinetry, refitting of kitchen/dinette below deck, new cockpit enclosure, new sails and exterior sunshades, restoration/cleaning/sanding of teak decks as needed, revarnishing of bulwarks and exterior woodwork, overhaul of stabilizers, balancing of propeller shafts and screws, replacement of all pumps with new rubbers, renewal of hydrophore and pump, cleaning of water tank. This Moonen 68 is equipped with: Camera system providing views of the engine room/swim platform/reverse/port and starboard gangways, trolling function on motor controls to reduce idle speed and boost hydraulic bow and stern thrusters, forward ship cellar for storage, onboard spare parts for vital technical components, only 3 main valves in the entire hull that can be centrally opened and closed in the wheelhouse, 4 x passageways in side railing, high-gloss lacquered railing all around, stainless steel fender holders on deck, recently painted anchor locker and storage in the bow, hydraulic capstans on fore and aft decks, 2 x electrically adjustable helm chairs, blinds in wheelhouse and salon, central vacuum system, 2 x heating units in ceiling on aft deck, onboard WiFi router, Miele washing machine, Miele dryer, waste compactor, Miele dishwasher in galley, hydraulic folding mast, mast height with mast up approx. 7.80m and folded mast approx. 6.13m.
