Hatteras has long been recognized as one of America's great builders of substantial offshore cruising yachts, earning its reputation through rugged fiberglass construction, capable deep-V hull designs and yachts engineered for serious use. The classic Hatteras models of this era are particularly respected for their heavy construction, excellent interior volume, practical systems access and timeless styling, qualities that have allowed many of these yachts to remain capable cruising platforms decades after they were built.
The 48 Yachtfish combines traditional Hatteras motor-yacht comfort with the versatility of an aft cockpit and an exceptionally functional cruising layout. Her teak interior incorporates private bow and master staterooms, two heads with showers, additional cruising berth, salon/galley, dinette and lounge, while a lower steering position and second flybridge helm provide excellent all-weather operating flexibility. Power comes from twin Detroit Diesel 8V71 engines rated at 480 HP each and coupled to Allison 2:1 reduction gearboxes, giving this substantial Hatteras a proven 960 HP diesel propulsion package.
