A British motorboat built in 1942 for the Royal Navy, this wooden boat with a unique history was converted for leisure after the war. The last known example of its series, it underwent a complete restoration between 2020 and 2022, carried out by its current owner who has lived aboard since then. Based in Bouzigues on the Thau lagoon, registered in Sète, this vessel combines historical charm, autonomy, and comfort of life on board.
Born in 1942, in the heart of the darkest hours of modern maritime history, Black Anchor was not intended for leisure. It was designed to serve, robust and reliable, in the ranks of the Royal Navy. At that time, these boats were conceived for specific missions: coastal surveillance, rapid liaison, and sometimes recovering men at sea.
A persistent rumor, passed from owner to owner, tells that it may have participated in the recovery of British paratroopers who fell into the Channel — a strong, almost cinematic image that sticks to its sleek appearance and purposeful bow.
