1976|2026 - 30.48m Custom Motor Yacht | Sea Breeze III
Sea Breeze III is a remarkable 30.48 metre custom motor yacht that embodies the very best of Australian craftsmanship, combining timeless classic lines with an extraordinary history of private ownership, extensive refits and proven offshore capability. Originally built in Brisbane by respected shipbuilders Milkraft in 1976 for renowned Queensland developer Keith Williams, she was first launched as Ulysses, continuing Williams’ tradition of naming vessels after figures from Greek mythology.
Her history continued under the ownership of prominent Queensland industrialist Sir Leslie Thiess, whose family cruised the vessel extensively before she was later acquired by New Zealand businessman Graham Hart in 1994. Prior to relocating to New Zealand, Ulysses underwent a major refit by Lloyds Ships Holdings in Brisbane, including an extension to her current 30.48 metre length, the addition of a cockpit and flybridge, complete interior refurbishment and comprehensive renewal of plumbing, electrical and electronic systems.
Renamed Sea Breeze III upon returning to Australia in 1999, she has continued to benefit from substantial investment and meticulous care. A further major refit in 2009 restored the vessel to exceptional condition, while between 2019 and 2021 she underwent an extensive NZD $3.1 million rebuild and upgrade programme in New Zealand. During this period, she was placed into commercial survey with Maritime New Zealand for overnight and day charter operations.
Most recently acquired by Ocean Sailing Expeditions owner David Hows in 2024, Sea Breeze III has since received further upgrades to hull, machinery and electrical systems, alongside an expanded guest accommodation layout increasing overnight capacity to 12 guests across five cabins. Early 2026 improvements included enlarged saloon seating and a new outdoor dining area designed for entertaining in comfort.
A proven Tasman and Pacific cruiser with exceptional pedigree, Sea Breeze III offers a rare opportunity to acquire a timeless expedition-style motor yacht with genuine offshore credentials, extensive commercial capability and a rich Australasian maritime history.
