One of two sister boats built by Doug Smith at Northwest Aluminum Craft in Victoria, Reel Intent is a welded-aluminum 26 pilothouse repowered in 2020 with a Suzuki DF350 and kept on a continuous annual service schedule since 2013.
This is a serious West Coast fishing and cruising platform for someone who wants to run Sooke, the Strait, and the open water off the south end of the Island without thinking twice about conditions. The modified-V hull with hard chines and lifting strakes handles chop the way only a purpose-built aluminum boat can, and the 500-litre fuel tank gives her range well beyond most boats her size. Two full helm stations mean you can run her from the warm, dry pilothouse or work fish from the aft cockpit. With twin Lowrance HDS-12 displays, B&G radar, NAC-1 autopilot, and three Scotty electric downriggers, she is rigged and ready to fish the day you take delivery.

The main and kicker are both modern, the full electronics suite was rewired and installed by Glen Varney, the AdvanTec window package was replaced in 2017, and the trailer was rebuilt in 2023.
