Sun Odyssey 509
Superb 2015 Sun Odyssey 509 in a 4 cabin / 4 head version, available immediately in the Canary Islands. This large cruising sailboat by Jeanneau impresses with its elegance, performance under sail, and remarkable onboard comfort. It offers generous volumes while maintaining excellent marine qualities for coastal navigation as well as ocean crossings.
This version features a particularly functional layout including 4 cabins, 4 heads, and an independent skipper cabin in the bow. Under sail, the Sun Odyssey 509 offers an excellent compromise between performance and ease of handling. Its powerful sail plan, electric Harken winches, bow thruster, and Yanmar 75 hp engine (with 2,700 hours) allow for simple and safe maneuvers, even with a reduced crew.
The boat has undergone numerous recent improvements aimed at enhancing its energy autonomy and reliability. It is equipped with a 600 Ah LiFePO4 lithium battery bank installed in 2024, complemented by 850 W of solar panels and a modernized Victron installation in 2026. This configuration ensures excellent autonomy at anchor while limiting the use of the 6000 W generator also available if needed. The standing rigging was replaced in 2020, as well as the mainsail and genoa. The navigation equipment and electronics are complete and functional.
Ready to sail, this Sun Odyssey 509 represents an excellent opportunity for a family cruising program, offshore sailing, or charter operation. A modern sailboat, well-maintained and particularly well-equipped to set sail without delay.
