This 2016 Dufour 512 Grand Large is an exceptional opportunity to acquire a one-owner, meticulously maintained performance cruising yacht based in Halifax/Chester, Nova Scotia. Owned by a lifelong sailor with a sharp eye for detail, this boat has always been a northeast vessel – never sailed south, never stored or cruised in the tropics – and it shows in its overall condition.

From new, all care and service have been handled professionally, with comprehensive service records available. The engine and generator have been serviced on schedule, the hull and deck are in excellent cosmetic and structural condition and are regularly washed and waxed, and the sails and rigging remain in excellent order. This is very much a turn-key Dufour 512 Grand Large for a buyer who wants to step aboard and go.

Where this yacht truly separates itself from other Dufour 512s and similar-class cruisers is in its extensive and thoughtful equipment list. You will be hard-pressed to find a comparable boat with more gear and better options. Features include proportional retractable bow and stern thrusters for confident close-quarters handling, a 5-zone Espar hydronic heating system, and 3-zone Cruisair air conditioning/heating for true comfort across the seasons. The interior offers a highly desirable galley layout and a three-stateroom, 3-head configuration, including a generous owner’s cabin with separate shower. On deck, the large cockpit with full enclosure creates a superb, protected space for both sailing and entertaining.

For buyers seeking a late-model, well-equipped bluewater-capable cruiser with a no-compromise maintenance history, this 2016 Dufour 512 Grand Large should be at the very top of the list.
