Contest 36S from Conyplex

For sale at Allround Yachting in Andijk: a beautiful Contest 36S from 1992, built by the renowned Dutch shipyard Conyplex. This sailing yacht comes from the first owner, who had the ship built new in 1992 and has taken care of it ever since.

The Contest 36S is a design that excellently showcases the qualities of a true Contest: a combination of good sailing characteristics, solid Dutch craftsmanship, comfort, and high-quality construction. The ship is designed to provide both comfortable cruising and excellent performance under sail.

A remarkable aspect of this Contest 36S is that the ship is largely in original condition. For enthusiasts looking for an authentic Contest yacht, this is an attractive starting point. No drastic modernization or renovation, but a ship in which the original atmosphere and character of the Contest 36S have been preserved.

This Contest 36S has a remarkable ownership history. The ship was ordered and built by the current and first owner at Conyplex in 1992. This means the entire history can be traced back to one owner.

This is remarkable for a ship of this age and instills confidence in how it has been treated. The owner has maintained the ship with care over the years and has had it professionally serviced where necessary.

Although the Contest 36S has remained in original condition, important investments have been made in the ship.

The sails are recent and in good condition. Notably, the mainsail that was renewed in 2025 is still unused and is on board.

This means the new owner has an important recently renewed component ready to go sailing immediately.

The engine has also been carefully treated over the years. The engine has always been professionally maintained, which matches the overall condition and maintenance level of this Contest 36S.

For a sailing yacht from 1992, a demonstrably well-maintained engine is an important plus, especially when the ship is used for both longer trips and comfortable coastal and inland sailing.

The Contest 36S is known as a spacious and comfortable sailing yacht. On board, a pleasant balance has been found between sailing characteristics and living comfort.

The interior has also retained its original character. The classic appearance of the interior matches the age and character of the ship and offers the new owner the opportunity to continue using the ship in its current authentic state or to further customize it to their taste if desired.

It is precisely the combination of space, practical layout, and the characteristic Contest finish that makes this an attractive yacht for couples or families who want to sail comfortably and spend longer periods on board.

Conyplex, the Dutch yard behind Contest Yachts, has built a strong reputation over the years for high-quality sailing yachts. Contest is known for ships built with attention to construction, durability, safety, and sailing characteristics.

The Contest 36S fits perfectly within that tradition. It is a ship designed to last for years, where seaworthiness and comfort go hand in hand.
