BERTIE: 1963 Bertram 31 MoppieA classic motor boat, one of the first boats to be built by Bertram in 1963 in Florida, in RYS ownership since 2007, is looking for a new home. She is one of the early fibreglass production boats, very sound and beautifully looked after. She was initially renovated extensively in 2000, including new twin Perkins SABRE 225T diesel engines, and refurbished during 2019-22 under present ownership, including a complete strip-down and refurb of both engines. She is bristling with electronics, including Radar, Garmin GPS and autopilot, plus many more. Now configured for cruising, with a prodigious cruising range: fuel capacity 820 litres in two tanks, consumption 16-25 litres/hr depending on speed and conditions. She also has a racing pedigree: as DAMIAN III she was raced in the 1963 Daily Express Offshore Cowes-Torquay Power Boat Race, coming 4th overall in a field of 94 and winner of the RYS Trophy (Class 1 Production Boats).
