Riva Aquarama No. 415 was built in 1970 and belongs to the third series of the Aquarama, representing a mature stage in the evolution of Carlo Riva’s legendary runabout.

One of the distinguishing technical features of this series is its more pronounced V-shaped hull, developed to provide improved handling, stability and comfort, particularly when cruising in choppy water. The deeper-V configuration gave the later Aquaramas a more capable and refined ride while preserving the performance and elegant proportions that defined the model.

The boat measures 8.30 metres in overall length, with a maximum beam of 2.62 metres and a draft of 0.56 metres. Its net weight is approximately 3,000 kg.

Aquarama No. 415 is powered by two Riva Crusader V8 engines, each producing 220 HP with just 239 hours of navigation.

The combination of the third-series V-shaped hull, twin V8 power and mahogany construction represents one of the most developed expressions of the classic Aquarama before the subsequent evolution of the model into the later versions.

The Third Series Riva Aquarama, produced between 1969 and 1971, represents one of the most fascinating chapters in the history of the legendary Aquarama.

By the end of the 1960s, Carlo Riva had already created an icon, but he continued to refine it in search of an even more accomplished balance between beauty and performance.

The Third Series introduced an important evolution of the hull, with a more pronounced V-shaped design and refined lines conceived to improve handling, stability and comfort at speed.

Its sharper bow, redesigned stern and distinctive chrome details gave the Aquarama a more powerful and modern presence while preserving the unmistakable elegance of the original design.

Built entirely in precious mahogany and finished according to Riva’s extraordinary standards, each example required craftsmanship of a level rarely seen in pleasure boats.

The final boats of the series became even more distinctive, introducing the celebrated twin side air intakes that today identify some of the rarest Third Series Aquaramas.

These boats were created during a unique moment in Riva history, when traditional wooden boatbuilding had reached its absolute peak while the yachting world was beginning its transition towards fiberglass.

The Third Series therefore stands at the crossroads of two eras: the culmination of Carlo Riva’s classic wooden runabout and the beginning of a new generation of high-performance luxury boats.

Production ended in 1971, followed by the extremely rare Aquarama Lungo and ultimately by the Aquarama Special.
