Stylish Italian raised saloon performance bluewater cruising yacht from 2009 with 3-cabin, 2-heads ‘owner’s’ layout. Fully equipped, lightly used and extensively updated in recent seasons.
FURTHER BROKER’S COMMENTS:
With just two owners since new in 2009 and sold to her current owner by Grabau International in 2020, STARFLYER is hull no.9 of the Studio Vallicelli-designed Comar Comet 52RS raised saloon performance bluewater cruising yacht.
Configured for effortless yet fast long-distance/liveaboard cruising, STARFLYER benefits from a comprehensive cruising specification designed to perform well in all climates and in all weather conditions. Her slippery hull lines and 2.50m draft lead keel combine with her fully-battened mainsail and blade jib to offer sparkling sailing performance, yet easily handled from the cockpit thanks to her Harken electric winches and Bamar electric genoa furler. Below decks, STARFLYER features a 3-cabin, 2-heads interior layout, finished in luxurious cherry joinery, with the large owner’s cabin forward and her two guest cabins aft.
Her specification highlights include:-

OWNER’S COMMENTS:
STARFLYER has accompanied my wife and me for the last six years. It has given me a lot of pleasure to put the boat in a top condition over the years. Both the technical functions and the optics of many details were the goal of my measures. The joy of the improvements has never made me think about the cost.
We used the boat almost exclusively for two! Since we all have comfort on board, this was never a problem. The electric winches and the new electric jib furler have made sailing extremely easy! The on-board electronics from Raymarine correspond to today's standard. The two cameras with augmented reality and the Doppler radar have always made the routing of the boat safe! Even at night and in difficult conditions.
STARFLYER runs extremely well even in light winds. The cockpit has plenty of space for sunbathing and eating. Below deck we enjoyed the comfort with a functional pantry and plenty of space. As a music lover, we have installed an excellent stereo system that supplies the cockpit, salon and master cabin in very good quality. Because of the water maker (it produces 100 litres per hour) and the drinking water treatment, we were 100% self-sufficient, to which the large area of the solar panels also contributes! The mere fact of not having to carry drinking water on board is an invaluable advantage.
In addition to 2 air conditioners, diesel heating, electric toilets, new quality mattresses and the spacious shower cabin, our stay on board was pleasant in any weather.
Unfortunately, my age makes me think of selling!
The buyer of STARFLYER will take over a boat in top condition. In recent years, significant renovations have been made. Here are to mention: a new machine with new Saildrive, solar panels, a new watermaker, the synthetic teak deck from SIKA, a new foresail and the overhauled rigg, anchor and 100m chain in stainless steel, etc., etc.
MANUFACTURER’S COMMENTS:
The Comet 52 RS is the first model in the Comar Raised Saloon series. The raised panoramic deck saloon has a sharply raked profile yet has none of the bulkiness of a genuine deckhouse. Instead, it looks exceptionally dynamic and sporty. Deck and interiors of Comet 52 RS are both very much cruising-oriented while the hull has sporty, performance lines, slender bow sections and high aspect-ratio appendages. The deck is wonderfully clean and uncluttered too with the deckhouse, characterised by distinctive eagle eye windows, disguising all of the sail controls that run into the cockpit. Nothing breaks the clean lines on the foredeck either (all of the hatches are flush). The saloon includes the galley and the chart table, enjoying unparalleled views of the surrounding sea. Apart from its large windows, it also has five opening hatches which allow both plenty of light and air to flood the interiors. With a choice of three or four cabins plus two heads, the Comet 52 RS will meet the needs of any yachtsman. The various versions available all allow for a separate crew cabin too.
