DescriptionThis Moody 27 is a very smart example of Bill Dixon's popular cruiser and has clearly benefited from a great deal of recent investment and care.

The current owner has carried out an impressive programme of upgrades over the last couple of years, including a full hull and deck repaint in 2024, new upholstery fitted in April 2025, shore power and battery charger installation, fuel tank cleaning, keel bolt inspection, new rigging 2023 and replacement of all underwater seacocks.

The accommodation feels fresh and inviting, offering comfortable berths for up to five crew, making her ideal for family cruising or extended weekends away.

Mechanically, she is particularly appealing thanks to her reconditioned Volvo Penta MD2020-series diesel engine, fitted in January 2025, with only around 80 hours recorded since installation. The engine was serviced in July 2026 and benefits from a new exhaust system fitted in 2025, providing peace of mind for her next owner. Antifouling and anode replacement were completed in March 2025.

On deck, the boat is well equipped with a sprayhood, sail cover, inflatable dinghy, new CQR anchor (2025), good deck gear and a practical bilge keel configuration, perfect for drying moorings and exploring shallow cruising grounds around the Clyde and beyond. Her sail wardrobe includes a Jeckells furling headsail from 2020 and a Jeckells mainsail from 2022 complete with lazy jacks, with running rigging renewed as required.

The Moody 27 has long enjoyed a reputation as a capable, comfortable and reassuring cruising yacht, and this example stands out due to the extensive refurbishment work already completed.

She presents as a genuine "step aboard and go sailing" opportunity for anyone seeking a well-maintained family cruiser with a proven pedigree.

Early viewing is recommended as boats of this quality and price point are always popular.
