DescriptionSouthern Drifter is a well-presented Moody 30 that has seen a significant programme of upgrades in recent years, making her a reliable and capable cruising yacht.

In 2022 she was fitted with a brand-new Volvo engine, saildrive and propeller, along with a new sail cover, sprayhood, and a refurbished cockpit canopy. Navigation has also been modernised with a Raymarine Axiom plotter, AIS, VHF, radar and i70 instruments.

Additional improvements include:

New Delta anchor with chain and warp
Full LED navigation lighting
Upgraded fire extinguishers (including engine bay)
Various comfort and safety enhancements
The owners have consistently winterised her ashore, ensuring she remains in good condition. Over the past three years she has been actively cruised along the South Devon and Cornwall coastline, proving herself to be a dependable, seaworthy yacht.

The Moody 30 is renowned for its solid build quality and balanced performance, and Southern Drifter is no exception — equally suited to weekend sailing or longer coastal passages.

Brokers comments: "I was taken aback by the condition of Southern Drifter, right from the first moment I stepped on board. Not only has she enjoyed substantial upgrades but she has been diligently maintained by the owners, to a level I have not seen before on a boat of this age. As a package for someone new to boating she makes for a good solid cruiser at a pocket-friendly price. Her maintenance records are up to date and tasks have been attended to ahead of their schedule in many cases which makes her forward forecast for expenditure very low. I look forward to seeing the reactions of anyone viewing Southern Drifter. She certainly punches above similar cruisers in her price range."
