The Arksen 8 is designed and built at our waterside home in Itchenor, West Sussex, on the shores of Chichester Harbour, and it shows. This is the boat that launched our Discovery Series of premium adventure RIBs, and it was created to do one thing brilliantly: get you, your family and your kit further out on the water, in real comfort.

This particular boat is rigged with twin Yamaha four-stroke 200 HP outboards with single 495-litre fuel tank, giving a cruising range of over 350 nautical miles and the reassurance of twin-engine redundancy offshore. Underneath sits our 24° deadrise deep-V hull, Category C rated and praised by Motor Boat & Yachting for its "outstanding sea manners" soft-riding in a seaway yet impressively stable at rest, whether you're anchored in a quiet bay or towing a wakeboarder off the back.

On deck, the Arksen 8 works the way a proper grand-tourer day boat should. Two sociable seating zones bow and aft convert to sunpads for lazy afternoons at anchor. The canvas T-Top with roof rack keeps the sun off and carries paddleboards and kit without cluttering the deck. The wetbar with sink, turns a day out into a day well spent, and the best-in-class heads compartment hidden in the console, with room to change in privacy — is the feature every family notices first. Underfoot, premium Esthec decking; at the helm, Garmin Ultrawide Gpsmap 15" display with Hideaway Stereo, with EmpirBus digital switching; all around you, a Fusion Signature stereo with four 230W speakers.
