The tugboat Limburgia is a characteristic example of Dutch shipbuilding from the war years. Built in 1942 by Gebroeders Boot in Leiderdorp, this robust motor tugboat was used for heavy work: towing vessels from DBG-Ruhrort along the Rhine to Mannheim and back again. Originally equipped with a 300 hp steam engine, the Limburgia underwent a major modernization in 1963. Since then, she has been powered by a powerful Brons 8ED 8-cylinder diesel engine of 500 hp, good for 335 revolutions per minute – an impressive piece of engineering known for its reliability and characteristic sound. With her sturdy appearance, impressive length of over 28 meters and a width of almost 6 meters, the Limburgia is not only a powerhouse, but also a piece of floating heritage. A unique opportunity for the lover of historical tugboats or maritime cultural heritage.
